SPORTS BAR, BOWLING ALLEY & RESTAURANT CASE STUDIES
MCMASHERS SPORTS BAR & GRILL
Casa Grande, Arizona
McMashers Sports Bar & Grill in Casa Grande, AZ was in desperate need of a way to control all 28 DirecTVs in their bar. Originally, a DirecTV was located under each display, so changing channels was a daunting task of tracking down a remote and then walking over to the display and hoping that the remote wouldn't change the DirecTV STB next to the one they were pointing at. This took bartender's out from behind the bar and distracted them from generating revenue and serving drinks.
With Cinemar's All-In-One Sportsbar Controller, bartender's can control every DirecTV from a 21.5" touch screen right behind the bar. The simple to use interface informs the bartender what channel every DirecTV STB is on. They even have a list of their top 12 channel's that they can jump to with a single click. A graphic alert lets them know what other DirecTV STB's are on the same channel as the box they are currently controlling. If they want to switch multiple TVs to the same channel, they can simply click the TV location name. McMasher's is also ready for the Super Bowl. Pressing the SET ALL button sends the same channel to all 28 DirecTV STB's instantly. McMasher's also has a bank of PRESETS where they can store what channel every DirecTV STB is on and then restore them later. This is perfect for making sure the bar is uniformly covering all major sporting events and channels especially during March Madness week.
Bill McSwain, owner of McMashers, writes, "We were quoted some ridiculous numbers by hardware companies that wanted to drag miles of HD cable or install a $35,000 24 channel booster device for HD. But that changed after I talked to Cinemar. Cinemar devised a system run from a single touch screen computer that polls each DirecTV receiver (21 total) wirelessly. The bartender can take change requests from customers or wait staff and can easily key in channel changes without disrupting the floor in any way. I have four full time bartenders who learned the system in a matter of fifteen minutes. Once the decision was made to go with Cinemar's solution, we were running smoothly within two weeks. And they brought it in at a very reasonable and affordable price. I would not hesitate to recommend Cinemar’s solution to anyone running a number of TVs using remotes or the old standard receiver booster solution."
JB'S SPORTS BAR & GRILL / SIX FLAGS
Located within the grounds of Six Flags in Austell, Georgia you’ll find JB’s Sports Bar and Grill. They are greeted by thousands of visitors daily. So downtime is not an option. Cinemar’s Sports Bar AV Control System was the hot ticket for this hot wing establishment. Eight DirecTV’s are distributed over cat5 to 20 HDTV’s. The system also features three audio zones with source selection and volume control. Changing channels is as easy as selecting a DirecTV and entering the desired channel or selecting a channel favorite. Customers have peace of mind knowing the TV they are watching won’t be accidentally tuned to a different channel during staff shift changes with our RESERVE TV option set by employees. At closing time, staff can power down all the TV's right from the touch screen.
How does a 35,000 square foot entertainment facility like Pinz featuring bowling, laser tag, billiards, arcade, conference room, two party rooms, two bars, full-service grill and outdoor bar & patio control 20+ video sources and 36 HDTV’s all from a single touch screen? Simple. They called Cinemar, the kingpin of all the AV control systems in the industry. Our turnkey AV control system is pivotal for a location of this size to deliver content to up to 1,000 guests on any TV at any time. Cinemar’s solution manages, controls and distributes 16 DirecTV’s, Control Play, DVD player, computer and a Comcast Cable receiver over cat5 to 36 displays. Without a Cinemar system, staff would be walking around their facility to change channels every time someone requested a specific channel or a new sports game starts. It’s not uncommon for guests to bring their own computer or DVD’s which can also be viewed in the conference or party rooms without staff needing to walk into those spaces.
Aces Sports Bar and Grill in Lincoln City, Oregon was in desperate need of an updated solution to control and distribute audio and video for six DirecTVs, two Dish Satellite receivers, a Charter Cable box and two Media Players.
Cinemar designed a turnkey yet custom solution that distributed these HD sources over a single cat5 to 25 TVs. Rather than fumbling around for physical remote controls from different brands, a single remote screen was designed to control the selected source regardless of whether it was DirecTV, Dish or Charter -- resulting in a user-friendly experience for staff. With four independent volume controlled audio zones, Aces now has the flexibility to rally sports fans at the bar with the big game playing while jamming bass thumping music in the Banquet Hall. Regardless of your venue, Cinemar can design a complete turnkey solution to fit your needs and budget.
CW Lanes and Games located in Lincoln, Rhode Island is the premier family entertainment destination. They offer a full-service sports bar & grill, redemption arcade, laser tag arena and 22 bowling lanes. During the construction phase, Cinemar offered free consulting and designed a complete turnkey AV control system with HD distribution to 56 TVs from any 12 HD video sources over cat5. At a glance, staff can easily select which DirecTV or digital signage is displayed on each TV as well as change DirecTV channels. The floor plan tab makes it easy to locate and control each TV rather than fumbling around for remotes or scrolling through lists of TVs. Each designated audio zone has independent volume control to ensure the volume level is just right when you are in the bar or bowling on the lanes. When it’s time to open or close, staff simply press one button to power on or off all 56 displays. With Cinemar’s simple to operate touch screen system, staff can focus on customers rather than being frustrated and confused by other complex AV control systems available from competitors.
Clearman’s Galley, also known as The Boat, has been around for 45 years now in San Gabriel, California. Clearman’s Galley was on a mission to guarantee patrons that their game and their team would be on when they came in. In order to pull this off, they needed a solution capable of managing ten DirecTV, two Dish and one Charter receiver plus the ability to view Buzz Time Trivia on any of their 30 TV’s upon request. Cinemar’s turnkey sports bar control system was their top choice. Cinemar’s system eliminates the need for countless remote controls and automatically displays the remote control on the staff touch screen based upon the selected video source. The simplicity doesn’t stop there. They simply touch the musical note next to the source name to play the audio from that video source throughout their space. When it comes to designing an av control system for sports bars and restaurants that is easy-to-use, Cinemar has you covered.
Silks Bar in Baltimore, Maryland was faced with a unique challenge. Not only did they have 22 TVs spread across two floors, they had five Comcast Cable receivers and five DirecTV’s that needed to be distributed to each TV and still be able to control them. A modulated solution would have not only been confusing for staff but also forced them to step away from the bar to switch TVs to a specific channel and then cross reference the respective cable or satellite remote control to change channels in a completely different location. And then hopefully, after all this, they would pray that they accidentally didn’t change channels on the other receivers because of them all being stacked on top of each other. Cinemar’s Touch Screen AV Control system was the perfect solution to this problem. All HD video was distributed over cat5. The staff can manage which video source is displayed on each TV on both floors. The intuitive interface eliminates any guesswork since it displays exactly what source is being viewed on each TV and in the case of DirecTV, it even shows you what channel it is on. Staff don’t have to fumble around for clunky remotes since the touch screen automatically switches to the proper remote control regardless of whether it’s Comcast or DirecTV.
Holiday's Pub & Grill was in desparate need to make it easier for their staff to control their 14 DirecTV's. With all their DirecTV's stacked on top of each other, it was imposibble for staff to change the channel of just one DirecTV receiver without affecting multiple other receivers at the same time. Now with the Cinemar Sports Bar Control system, they are ready for the NFL Season and have the ability to select and control each DirecTV/TV independently. Cinemar also created a solution for their Touch Tunes Jukebox using custom programming and hardware. When a song is playing on the Jukebox, the Cinemar system automatically switches the Bar audio zone to the Jukebox source and then returns it back to the original source when the Jukebox stops playing. Staff can also browse and play Pandora stations from the Cinemar touch screen.
Gigglez Bar & Grill opened its doors in August 2015. Installed by No Limits AV, the Cinemar AV control system minimized the training time needed for employees thanks to an intuitive user interface. The ability to combine control of all the DirecTV's as well as their PylePro P1501ATU Amplifier from the same touch screen greatly simplified an otherwise complex system. All 1080p video is distributed over a single cat5 cable.
Locally owned and operated for over 68 years, Midway Bar & Grill had been bandaiding their AV system over the years with multiple remotes, splitters and RF modulators. Their system had become so complex to figure out that only a select few could even operate it. Cinemar designed a customized solution to simplify the system and allow complete control from our central 15" touch screen. Both Dish and Charter cable boxes along with a computer are distributed to all 24 TV's over a pair of Cat5 cable. Staff no longer have to reach for the correct remote, the Cinemar system does it for them. Staff used to walk around with eight different IR remotes because of all the different brands of TVs they have. Now, their Cinemar system automatically turns off all the TVs at closing time. The owner wrote, "The ease at which we are able to pull up sports channels for any or all of our 24 TV's is great. Training the staff to use the system has been easy as well. Cinemar has been very professional and extremely helpful. Thank you Cinemar for providing a great product and service for an affordable price!"
Newly opened Tailgators Pub & Grill in Spring, Texas is a great place to catch all of the major broadcast sporting events. With 64 TVs, there’s not a bad seat in the house.
Cinemar’s control system is a key element to managing this many TVs and selecting from 12 DirecTVs and 4 Digital Signs. And because there are over 8 different brands of TVs, powering them on and off would have been a daunting task. It only takes one click from the Cinemar touch screen. Changing channels on any of the 12 DirecTVs is a breeze and staff know exactly what channel every TV is on given the two-way feedback from the Cinemar control system.
the Zone is a unique, all in one, full family entertainment venue. Great for playing laser tag, arcade games, bowling, parties or simply having dinner and drinks with friends at the bar. Because everything is state-of-the-art in their new facility, they also wanted a state-of-the-art AV control system and Cinemar was their top choice. Almost 30 TVs and projectors are located throughout the space. Seven DirecTVs, two AppleTV’s, security cameras and a BluRay player are distributed to each HDTV over a single cat5. Volume levels and source selection are easily controlled from the touch screen in eight dedicated audio zones. There’s no need for staff to go to each Party Room to change the video or music, it’s all managed from the Cinemar touch screen.
Seacoast Adventure hosts a variety of outdoor activities that range from mini-golf to water playgrounds, obstacle courses to go-karts and snow tubing to sky swings. This summer, Seacoast Adventure opened their Deck House Tavern. With 16 TVs, 6 DirecTVs, 2 Time Warner Cable receivers, a BluRay Player, Computer, AppleTV, Pandora, iPod and 8 independent audio zones, the Cinemar sports bar control system provides access to everything from a 15” touch screen. The ability to control and switch both Time Warner Cable and DirecTV sources provides a lot of flexibility. Staff won’t have to worry about finding remote controls, setting volume on amplifiers or changing channels at the TVs themselves since everything is controlled exclusively from their Cinemar touch screen.
My Beautiful Mind (MBM) restaurant and lounge contacted Cinemar because they were looking to distribute video and control 24 TVs with 12 DirecTV receivers all from an easy to use graphical touch screen user interface. Cinemar delivered a custom control user interface and video matrix switcher system that distributed HD video over a pair of cost effective cat5 cables. The system also can power on and off all their TVs and Projector with one button press over the same cat5. At a glance, staff can see what TVs are on the same channel and change channels from the touch screen. And it's only one click when it's time to show the same DirecTV on all 24 TVs for the big game - sure beats walking around with various remotes and trying to do it manually twice a day. When customers ask to watch a specific game on any TV, staff simply press the RESERVE TV button to prevent other staff from inadvertently switching it on that customer and providing a great experience for both staff and customers alike.
The Cove Restaurant & Marina just opened its doors in July of 2014 and features a breath taking view of the marina through its wall of windows. Cinemar worked closely with the installer, Total Security Technology, to ensure the owners received the best possible solution for the allowed budget. Our floorplan screen makes it extremely easy for the staff to select from any of the TVs at the outside or inside bar. Six Xfinity cable boxes can be switched to any of the 11 displays. There's even room for more displays to be added later. The Xfinity cable boxes are all controlled from the touch screen. The Cinemar touch screen also powers off and on all the various manufacturer displays with the press of a button. An iPod ans Sirius XM radio are also switchable to the various audio zones. Volume levels of each zone are visible from the touch screen. Staff can easy select different XM presets or tune to a specific channel without ever leaving the bar. As part of Cinemar's turnkey experience, we provided the audio and video matrix switchers that deliver HD quality video over a single cat5.
Orange County’s amazing new Mexican restaurant, La Vida Cantina is an authentic Mexican restaurant and bar with a menu of fresh, high quality ingredients where traditional recipes are presented with a modern twist. Staff have the option to turn this functionality on or off when their local teams or the big game can't be interrupted.
The Bank Sports Lounge in Taft, California had it’s grand opening on March 11, 2015. The Bank is a great example of how even smaller spaces can take advantage of a Cinemar Sports Bar control system to improve productivity and the customer experience. In this project, the customer had a dedicated DirecTV for each TV. Each one is controlled by Cinemar’s touch screen along with source selection and volume control in three separate audio zones. The Bank simply provided their own amplifiers and speakers. Regardless of whether you have six or sixty TVs, two or twelve audio zones -- Cinemar can design a system that is right for you.

The Whatever Sports Bar in Houston, Texas recently got a make-over. Part of that make-over included getting rid of their outdated way of managing TVs and DirecTVs consisting of mirrored TVs, splitters and lots of remote controls and replacing them with an iPad mini to control everything. 10 DirecTVs and 2 Cable boxes are fed into a video distribution system that can be matrix switched to any of their 28 displays. All of their DirecTVs and cable boxes are controlled without fumbling around for various remote controls. To turn on and off all 28 displays is as easy as pressing a button. No more walking around with multiple remote controls and getting on ladders to power them on and off. Cinemar worked with installer JDG Consulting to ensure the entire process went smoothly for the bar owner. Andy Andress, owner of Whatever Sports Bar and Grill, writes, "The flexibility, ease of use, capabilities, and overall awesomeness of our TV system has allowed us to focus on entertaining our customers with the touch of a button. It also gives us the time to provide them the service they deserve."
The Houston Astros owners suite was in need of a 2x2 video wall to allow the owner and his guests to not only watch the live game, but also tune in to other games going on within the league. Pressing the video wall button on any of the TVs represented on the touch screen user interface expands the selected TV to fill the entire video wall and automatically enables the remote control for that DirecTV receiver associated with the TV. It doesn't get much easier than that. Cinemar supplied the video wall controller, touch screen and our rack mount controller. Contact Cinemar to add the visual impact of a video wall to your current sports bar.

With over 9,200 square feet of total restaurant space, 12 DirecTVs, volume control in five audio zones and the need to deliver HD video over a single cat5 to 75 TVs -- it's no wonder integrator VGI Technology contacted Cinemar to deliver a turnkey system and provide the most robust and simplest user interface possible to the Twin Peaks staff. The floor plan provides a visual aid for staff to easily select any TV in the entire space. They know visually what DirecTV channel every single TV is on and which ones share the same channel. The Republic Ice House brings Nashville and Austin style live music to its guests in a Texas Roadhouse Saloon. But even when the band is playing, staff still need an easy way to control their 10 DirecTVs and 2 Suddenlink cable boxes across 21 TVs. Cinemar worked with Video Magic Productions to deliver an elegant solution that staff can control from a central 17" touch screen. And when the band is on break, it only takes one click to play Pandora Radio through out their six audio zones. The Republic Ice House can not only power on and off all their TVs within a split second, but they also have independent power control of each TV within their three VIP rooms. On top of that, Cinemar also can drop down their projection screen from the ceiling when the big game is on.
The Sports Page Bar & Grill was in desperate need of a DirecTV only control system that staff could actually figure out how to use. Our 15" touch screen is the central control hub for all thirteen DirecTV receivers. The integrated floor plan makes it a breeze to find a TV on the plan and change channels. This system is a breeze to setup and arrives ready-to-go -- just plug it in! Robert Eidem, the owner wrote, "We just love our Cinemar Control system and AudioFetch system! The employees immensely appreciate being able to turn any television with simplicity and quickness, especially when we are busy. Capone's Pub & Grill chose Cinemar's Sports Bar Control system for their newly opened Hayden, Idaho location. The 1,600-square-foot location offers the same menu and beer (41 flavors on tap) and wine that it has for 21 years.
The entire AV system is managed from a centrally located 17" in-wall touch screen powered by Cinemar's MLS-Sports Bar Controller. From the touch screen, staff control any of their 18 DirecTV receivers. The system also manages source selection and volume control in four audio zones. At a glance, staff can see what channel every DirecTV receiver is on, what audio source is playing in each zone and the volume levels. One click sets all DirecTV receivers to the same channel or pre-defined presets are available. No need to remember channel numbers with all their favorite icons available. Staff can copy the channel of the selected DirecTV receiver to another just by pressing the Display label. To make the system more efficient, Cinemar worked with Capone's to make everything available from this one screen. Since installing the first system, Capone's loved it so much, they had Cinemar update their dated system at the Coeur d'Alene location.
Kangnam BBQ of College Park, MD, known for its Korean cuisine, re-opened their doors in October of 2014 with a complete renovation that included a turnkey Cinemar sports bar control system. Five DirecTV receivers, 3 PCs and 3 Digital Menus can be shown on any of their 20 TVs. Setup was made simple requiring the owners to run a single cat5 to each TV. When the new owners of Donovan's Pub, a fixture of Woodside, New York since 1966, took over the location...they knew the Irish pub could use a few updates. One of them was a better way to manage and control their DirecTV as well as HD video distribution. Cinemar outfitted Donovan's with a 15" touch screen and our compact controller as well as an 8x16 HD video matrix switcher, . This will easily handle their five DirecTVs and 13 TVs and still allow Donovan's room to add additional Tvs. All the HD video and IR is passed over a single cat5 cable to each display using the Cinemar supplied cat5 to component/ir converters.
With multiple bartenders working at the same time, Donovan's needed a way to reserve a TV for customers to prevent other bartenders from switching channels during the game. Once a TV is reserved by a customer, staff can easily see this on the TV icon represented on the floor plan.
In the mornings, a single click powers on all the displays and DirecTVs and sets the channels of all the DirecTVs to a preset configuration customized by the General Manager. During bigger sporting events, pressing the ALL button switches all the TVs to the same DirecTV receiver.
Daniel Connor, one of the owners of Donovan's Pub wrote, "Working with Mario from Cinemar was one of the absolute best business experiences I have ever had. He went out of his way (above and beyond) to come up with solutions that would make my implementation the most productive and found ways to save me some money along the way. I needed things very fast. Mario and the team at Cinemar delivered BIG TIME. When my gear arrived and I started to install I could not believe how easy it was to put things together (thanks to the diagrams and emailed instructions provided in advance). By far the best customer service experience I have ever had when dealing with technology. My video system is up and running perfectly. My customers love it, my staff love it......and I absolutely love it. If your ever in New York City, pop over to Donovan's Pub in Woodside Queens (57-24 Roosevelt Avenue, Woodside NY 11377) to check it out!"

La Barra Bar & Grill contacted Cinemar because they were frustrated with their current video distribution setup and wanted something delivered within one week. They had 14 TVs fed by six xFinity cable receivers and one Sky receiver. The prior system consisted of splitters that would essentially mirror the xFinity cable receivers on multiple TVs and only one TV was able to display video from the Sky receiver. The big downside of the mirror setup and using splitters is that changing the channel on one TV would affect another TV in another location of the bar even though they didn't want the channel changed on the other TV. La Barra was looking for a system that would also allow them to add multiple DirecTV receivers into the mix as well as one xFinity and Sky receiver so they could catch all their televised soccer games in Spanish. They also wanted to be able to show any of the sources on any or all 14 TVs. Cinemar's Touch Screen Sports Bar Control system accomplished all of the above plus much more. Cinemar supplied La Barra with a 12 input x 16 output HD video matrix switcher. The matrix switcher sends HD video to every display over a single cat5e cable. Staff no longer have to manage eight remote controls and can control DirecTV, xFinity and the Sky receiver all from the Cinemar touch screen. The system is smart enough to know which source is selected and send the correct commands to the targeted cable receiver. And with Cinemar's new Reserve TV option, patrons are assured that the TV they are watching won't be switched by unknowing staff especially during shift changes.
Cinemar outfitted the Bella Luna Trattoria with a complete turnkey system to control their DirecTVs, audio and video switching. Cinemar worked with an installer to deliver this sports bar control solution. The system required IR control of several Shaw Cable boxes and a Blu Ray player. 8 different HD sources are routed to any of 16 HD displays over a single cat5. The remote control allows bartenders to change channels quickly on any of the Shaw cable boxes. All their favorite stations are also just a click away. A preset screen makes setting up all the HD displays to the same or pre-configured sources a snap. Let Cinemar customize a solution that works for your bar or restaurant. Call us today at 262-859-2666.

JJ's Wing'n'It had their grand opening on July 4th and Cinemar was proud to be chosen to provide a control system for their new sports bar. The owners were looking for a way to manage 15 DirecTV receivers from a simple to use touch screen interface. Cinemar provided them with our turnkey 10.1" touch screen tablet and docking station. When customers request a specific channel on a nearby TV, staff no longer have to fumble around with old fashioned remotes and attempt to guess which box they need to point it at while covering up the other DirecTV receivers. A floorplan view shows where all the TVs are located in the bar and let's staff know which channel they are on. The remote control enables staff to change channels quickly and get back to tending to customers. One click, and all 15 DirecTV receivers can switch to the same channel. The compact tablet can be located in bars that are tight on space but big on control!
Jay Schraad of JJ's Wing'N'It Family Sports Spot wrote on our Facebook page, "System works fabulous. I want to add a review to give a sense of how great the customer service has been as well. Thanks Mario and the Cinemar team!"

The Farmers Union, located at the entrance of San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose, California opened its doors in July of 2013. Cinemar was tasked with designing a system to control volume in eight audio zones, route HD video over cat5 to 32 displays, control 10 DirecTV receivers and a 2x2 video wall all from a user-friendly touch screen.
Employees are presented with both a list view and floor plan view for selecting displays. Changing channels is a breeze since Cinemar controls DirecTV over IP rather than traditional IR remote controls. Employees will never have to worry about tracking down hand held remotes and accidentally change multiple receivers at the same time.
A master volume level control from the touch screen adjust up or down the levels of all zones. Or independent volume levels per zone can be adjusted.
Cinemar provided a turnkey solution that included our sports bar controller, 17" touch screen, two video matrix switchers, one audio matrix switcher, all splitters and baluns plus the hardware for a 2x2 video wall. The video wall can show four different video sources at once or a single video source that fills up all four TVs.
Pier 115 Bar and Grill contacted Cinemar during the construction phase looking for a turnkey touch screen control system that would be user friendly to their staff. Pier 115 Bar and Grill will be opening its doors during the Summer of 2013. The space offers unparalled views of NYC from their 200 seat dining room, separate outdoor 60 seat Pier Deck, and 150 person Lounge/Night Club.
Cinemar's 23" touch screen is centrally located and provides complete control of all of their IP controlled DirecTV receivers. A floor plan views identifies which TV is showing what DirecTV channel. This makes it extremely easy for staff to prevent showing identical channels on nearby TVs and offer more variety to their guests. Any of their DirecTVs can be displayed on any of their 20 HD displays located throughout the space. It only takes one click for all the displays to show the big game! The DirecTV remote control screen allows them to quickly change channels for their customers. A customized list of channel Favorite Icons saves time and doesn't require staff to memorize all the channel numbers.
Cinemar provided multiple HD matrix video switchers, splitters, programming, software and our 23" touch screen as a turnkey solution.
